Spock had been an adult for three days and he has a serious problem.
It wouldn't have been that much of a problem if it didn't keep surfacing in his mind. Nothing he did would make it go away either. In the end he decided he just had to face it and do something about it.
The entire time that Spock had been stuck in the body of a child Captain Kirk had been exceedingly kind to him. He had allowed a tiny Vulcan to invade his bed, his time and his life (in essence). By all accounts that meant he should do something as a sign of appreciation.
The problem was

It had been an entire week since Spock had returned to the bridge to continue his duties; something he was more than willing to return to.
When he stepped out of the turbo lift with Kirk at his side, much of the bridge crew erupted with cries of joy. His eyebrow shot up and he stared at them in confusion. What was the big fuss about? Spock was anything but fine.
He had been stuck in Sick Bay for the last eleven hours. Every hour, on the dot, Nurse Chapel had, so kindly he might add, injected with hormones that were the equivilant of two years. His entire body ached; his muscles felt like they had been ripped and sewn back together by a psycho doctor that hadn't the faintest idea of what muscles looked like. On top of that his bones felt extremely brittle and he had the most illogical fear that if he stepped off the bed his legs would snap under his weight. &nbs

They were just a day away from Earth and Kirk was starting to get antsy. He knew for a fact that he was going to get chided for hanging up on Komack. Not to mention the fact that he had sort of declared war with the entire Romulan Empire. That certainly couldn't look good on his record. Hopefully the council would understand that he was acting rashly.
But then, he was a captain and he shouldn't act in such a manner.
